Fell in love with Poland

Home > Fell in love with Poland

Poland, a country renowned for its historical sites and beautiful landscapes, is located in the very heart of Europe. The current capital city, Warsaw, is the most popular tourist destination. The city was almost entirely destroyed during the Second World War, and then rebuilt, becoming a modern metropolia that unites the past and the present.

The origin of the most important churches, cathedrals and other edifices in Poland varies from the Middle Ages, through Renaissance and Baroque, to the 19th and further centuries. Other major cities in Poland, known for their historical richness, are Krakow, Gdansk, Wroclaw, Lodz and Poznan. For those who long to take a break from the city rush will surely enjoy a visit to the lake district of Mazury, the beaches of the Baltic Sea, or – in the south of the country – hiking in the Tatra Mountains with their picturesque town of Zakopane. Each major city in Poland provides a lot of entertainment for visitors interested in cultural life, sports, or pure relax, such as the various spa. Even though Poland may seem to be a country of medium size, it is difficult to try and see everything of interest on one’s own – one holiday is far less than enough to spend on sightseeing! There are plenty of Poland escorted tours to choose from, even ones for the less patient tourists, who don’t have more than a week to spare and only want to experience the essence of this beautiful country, its monuments, people and traditions.
