Home > Tours from Krakow > John Paul II route

On this tour you visit places closely related with the Pope’s life. In the Market Square of Wadowice, stands the Basilica of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Inside this church, in the Chapel of the Holy Family, stands the font where, on 20th May 1920, Karol Wojtyla, future Pope of the Roman Catholic Church who assumed the name of John Paul II, was baptized. We also go to see the Basilica and Culture and Landscape Complex of the Bernardine Monastery and Pilgrim’s Park in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska which has been a UNESCO World Culture and National Heritage Site since 2000. Kalwaria is well-known for its Passion mysteries and church festivities. You will also have an opportunity to see the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Lagiewniki which was established by Pope John Paul II during his stay in Poland in August 2002.
