Krakow is famous for the impressive historic Old Town and Kazimierz Quarter but the second biggest Polish city has much more to offer. Discover the youngest district of Krakow - Nowa Huta which was firstly founded as independent city. Shortly after the war, Poland was strongly influenced by the Soviet Union. Communist government of People’s Republic of Poland founded a new model of socialist ideal city in 1949. Few years later Nowa Huta became part of Krakow. Nevertheless its different character is perfectly visible to this day. Socialist architecture still dominates. Thanks to this you have chance to look at Krakow from totally new perspective. Huge Tadeusz Sendzimir Steelworks, monumental Central Square or The Avenue of Roses are real architectural symbols of the past which is still present in the memory of Nowa Huta inhabitants.
