International Soup Festival in Krakow

Home > Culture > Concerts & Festivals > International Soup Festival

It is the only festival of this kind in Poland. It was first organized in Krakow in May 2002 and as it turned out to be successful one, since then it is held annually, always in May. It is kept in form of competition for the title of “best soup of the year” and of course public is invited to take part in sampling and having fun while tasting different types of soups.

You can find here most popular Polish soups like Zurek, Barszcz and Kapusniak, but also some more extraordinary compositions. Event takes place in Kazimierz Quarter, at Plac Nowy which is full of bars, pubs and restaurants on every corner, so it is easy to get something other than soup to eat or a cold beer. Festival is dominated by very nice and friendly atmosphere and it is definitely worth joining if you are in the city that time.
