Besides Jagiellonian University, in Krakow there are many other important and big universities/academies which make the city most important educational centre in Poland. Total number if students living in Krakow exceeds substantially number of 100 thousand. Every year, usually during the second weekend of May, students in Krakow have their big festival called Juwenalia.

It begins on Tuesday or Wednesday and lasts until Sunday. Hundreds of concerts, special events and crazy parties take place across the city, mainly in the area of huge students’ city of AGH University of Science and Technology. 
Students city gets filled with loud music, crowded by dancing people and thousands of barbecues, not mentioning that huge amount of beer and vodka spilled everywhere around for a couple of days. Most impressive venue takes place on Friday morning around 10:00 until 12:00 which is a colourful march of students from the AGH students’ city towards Main Market. March lasts for approx 2 hours and tradition is that all participants are dressed up into various characters and motifs which looks like a real carnival. At the noon, the ceremony of giving the students symbolic key to the city by Mayor takes place on the Main Market. For the whole weekend most of the pubs and clubs in the city get crowded by partying young people. Juwenalia is a great time to visit Krakow for a party weekend.
