Palace was built in 1874 - 1875 for Baron Konstanty de Puget according to a design by Jozef Kwiatkowski. Puget family originally hailed from France, but in the 18th century one of its members – gentleman Benedykt Jozef de Puget received Polish ennoblement and family started doing business in Poland.

Palace was built in elegant, neo-Renaissance Parisian style, which can not be found anywhere else in Krakow. From the very beginning, parts of the palace were rented to other noble families visiting from distant corners of the former Polish state. Especially during the carnival season, when the Puget family held renowned society balls here in their palace. Today, the palace houses upmarket business offices with an art gallery in the cellar.
