Old Theatre in Krakow is really old. First performance took place here in 1781 and it was a French comedy. By the end of the 18th century this theatre raised almost to the name of national theatre. During the 19th century it performed across European capitals and gained fantastic fame.


Since 2003 theatre is run by its director, Mikolaj Grabowski who cooperates with the best directors of the scene in Poland and team of great and talented actors. Today Stary Theatre remains amongst the most prestigious ones in Poland. In the theatre’s building downstairs, there is a small museum.
