Szczepanski Square (Plac Szczepanski) in Kraków

Szczepanski Square used to be full of cars and always served as a parking place with great location, so close to Main Market. However in 2010 when some renovation works finished, square gained absolutely new design with a small and nice fountain and some benches to sit for a while and chill.

It is not a parking place anymore but just another great place to spend some time in the centre of Krakow. It contains a number of interesting buildings that house the arts. The Old Theatre is also located on this square, which is the oldest theatrical building in Poland. It opened in 1798 and since then was rebuilt twice, most recently in 1903-1905 in Art Nouveau style by Franciszek Maczynski and Tadeusz Stryjenski. Interesting exhibitions are regularly held at the Fine Arts Society Building – No. 4. Szczepanski Square is definitely worth visiting during an Old Town stroll.
