The Church of St Wojciech is a small, tiny, almost cubical, splendid church located in the south – eastern corner of the Main Market Square, in front of Grodzka Street. Its orientation lines up with that of St Mary's Church which means it is older than the planning of the vast Main Market Square.

Today's Romanesque church was built here at some time in 12th century. The Romanesque portal, now nearly 2 meters below the surface of Main Market, shows the level of the square in the 13th century.
